We are situated midway between Orbost & Buchan, and operating primarily as a Red Deer - Venison Farm. We also have a small herd of Angus Beef and also Cashmere Goats.
Bordering the Snowy River National Park and State Forest, we have an abundance of Wildlife, and more than fifty species of birds, as well as the Rivers own array of wildlife including Platypus, and the frightfully named but harmless Snowy River Crocodile (Also known as the Eastern Water Dragon).
The area has a very mild climate, sheltered from prevailing winds in a spectacular setting, with wildlife and state forest our closest neighbours.
With 350 acres to explore, Snowy River WilderNest provides many options including bushwalking, birdwatching, fishing and swimming in the Snowy River.

Relax in the comfort and total seclusion of one of two fully self contained farmhouses featuring alternate power (no TV, ensuring peace and quiet), spectacular views from the verandahs, each house is spacious, clean, comfortable, homely - ideal for couples on a romantic getaway, families, or groups.
Both houses are within five minutes walk of the river - each having its own secluded section of the river. Wood fires also add to the ambience on a cold winters night.

Fresh water Bass can be caught in the Snowy River only a short walk within 500m from both the Lyrebird Lodge and Eagles Rest.
The spectacular scenery that surrounds Snowy River WilderNest is home to beautiful wildlife that will ensure picture perfect moments captured on film.
Take a walk along the river to see the gorge, a short yet scenic twenty minute walk from either lodge. Follow the deer fence lines to explore even more spectacular view points, and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Take your camera and binoculars and see a myriad of bird life at home along the Snowy River.
The Snowy River is home to many species of bird life, making Snowy River WilderNest the perfect place for any keen Ornithologist.
The wildlife even comes to you, with many species of Birds making home nearby both of the lodges, for those who simply enjoy the beauty of our Australian wildlife.
Being freshwater, the river is a refreshing and cool respite in the summer months. There are shallow sections of the water ideal for young children to play in and deeper sections also for experienced swimmers.
However, the current of the river can be very strong so it is advised that all children are supervised by an adult at all times when down by the water.
The Snowy River landscape hosts many trails for avid bike enthusiasts to explore, allowing access to areas not normally reached by most on foot.
Explore the beautiful wildlife and scenery that surrounds Snowy River WilderNest, or simply enjoy the the ride. There are some restrictions around the house and you must have licenses and registered bikes.
Although we do not supply canoes at Snowy River WilderNest, you are welcome to bring your own to experience the tranquility of being on the river firsthand.

Orbost is the service centre for the primary industries of dairy farming, seed corn production and processing, beef and timber harvesting. With a population of around 2,500, Orbost is a scenic township with a rich history.
Visit the Slab Hut - Orbost's Living Museum and Visitor Information Centre, then take a leisurely stroll to the Exhibition Centre featuring locally handcrafted wood and art items.
Take a cruise back in time on the Brodribb River near Marlo on the re-created paddle steamer of which the original used to transport produce down the Snowy River. Visit www.paddlesteamercurlip.com.au for cruise times, or the Visitor Centre.
